Erin Higgins and David MacIntosh to Present at 2020 AIHce EXP
Use of Viable Microbiological Data Collected in Sterile Compounding Environments to Develop an Effective Sampling Strategy and Mitigate Risk
June 1, 2020, 11:15 AM – 12:15 PM
Erin Higgins and David MacIntosh will present the findings of an analysis of environmental monitoring data collected over approximately three years within multiple sterile compounding pharmacy environments. Two case studies showcase the analytics: 1) review of contamination profiles within biological safety cabinets (BSCs) to inform risk reduction strategies and 2) the use of interventions to reduce microbiological contamination within BSCs.
Erin and Dave will discuss the value of data analytics in the development of an effective sampling strategy and in informing potential corrective actions in sterile compounding environments.
