Colleges and university presidents and chancellors are uniquely positioned to focus attention and resources in response to the growing threats that climate change poses towards society and our world. Climate action provides a multitude of benefits for the institution itself, beyond greenhouse gas reductions, if pursued using a systems approach.
This webinar will demonstrate, by example, how responding to the challenges of climate change creates opportunities to:
-
Foster a shared vision for promoting engagement of sustainability among the varied institutional stakeholders.
-
Build a management system that creates a supporting infrastructure to ensure programmatic goals can be achieved given available resources and incentives.
-
Promote the campus as a living laboratory for sustainability by incorporating curriculum development and experiential learning.
