Greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories are increasingly being used by colleges and universities as an important metric of environmental performance. While standards for calculating GHG inventories, such as the World Resources Institute and Climate Registry Protocols are emerging, there is still much variability in the use of methodologies and calculator tools from institution to institution.
This webinar will discuss the emerging standards, regulatory frameworks, the pros and cons of various existing calculator tools and methodologies for GHG Inventories. Participants will be given a solid framework with which to start their own GHG Inventories as well as calculator tools and resources.
This online event will cover:
- A market overview of GHG Inventories.
- World Resources Institute's GHG Inventory Protocol.
- The Climate Registry's "General Reporting Protocol."
- Calculating emissions for primary fuels, biofuels, refrigerants, electricity, Renewable Energy Certificates, commuting, air travel, solid waste.

Denise has extensive experience in state government operations and environmental policy. She has nearly 20 years of experience in New York State government, including nine years with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, and two years as Commissioner.
