Learn how Microsoft SharePoint can be used to automate the administration of your research protocol (IBC, IACUC, IRB) review process and generate key program metrics. Many research institutions both large and small are finding it increasingly difficult to track incoming research review requests, correspond with researchers, and identify appropriate research protocols as part of their Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committees (IACUC), and Institutional Review Board (IRB) programs. This presentation addresses the need to move from paper to electronic data capture in a non-disruptive manner by using forms, processes and software already familiar to users. During this webinar, you will see how EH&E’s biosafety experts can quickly develop and customize an application using Microsoft SharePoint (a web-based collaboration platform already hosted and supported by most institutions) that automatically tracks and manages the protocol review process. Learn how this open-platform approach can dramatically reduce the cost of the software solution while allowing greater flexibility in institutional control and customization. This online event will focus on the following areas of the research protocol review software application: - Automating the institution’s protocol review process.
- Creating electronic research protocol request forms.
- Selecting appropriate metrics for measuring program success.
- Interfacing with Principal Investigators and IBC members.
- Providing a centralized status reporting dashboard.
- Customizing the software application for specific needs.
