This is the third webinar in the "Advanced Biosafety Webinar Series - Meeting the Challenges of Today's Research".

Webinar Description
Adenoviral vectors and novel adjuvants have shown great promise in stimulating an immune response to HIV infection. Research in primates and mice is critical to advancing an understanding of the immune response. This webinar will provide biosafety professionals with the current status of HIV vaccine research, and the methods being used in the field. Further discussion will include the unique challenges present in working with the non-human primate model in HIV vaccine research.

This online event will cover:

  • Utility and limitations of the non-human primate (NHP) model.
  • The refinement of the model over the years in terms of understanding what types of NHP studies will be predictive in humans.
  • Current NHP studies supporting HIV vaccine development.
  • Safe use of HIV vaccines in research involving NHP models.
